When the LED Lady found Liz, she was using 90 watt Incandescent lamps that fit into tracks. We see these everywhere in retail shops because retail shops need a lot of light to illuminate their goods.
Challenge: Because of the high wattage they were using, the lights were heating up the shop and during warmer days causing it to be at some times unbearable.
Solution: By switching to Green Creative LED's that use 20w, Liz was able to reduce her energy use and her bill as well as maintenance since these will last her 19 years based on her usage. Additionally, Liz qualified for a generous PG&E rebate thus making the upgrade completely affordable. Her project cost was $2,671 with a rebate of $2,307, leaving her paying a co-pay of $364.
This is what Liz had to say about the lighting The LED Lady provided for Liz.."The Store looks wonderful, I am very pleased.
What's next for Liz: She is already talking up LED's to other store owners nearby who have not made a move towards LED's. It's only going to take 10 shops and we will celebrate "Wine, Cheese and LED's" progressive party on 24th street in San Francisco!
